Its the most wonderful time of the year…….for rustic decor! OK, some people go for sleek and modern for the holidays, but I really love a mellow vibe. In our house, my approach to Christmas decor has been to embrace rustic style and neutrals. This approach helps me not get sick of it year to year and want to replace everything. Neutral colors never go out of style and are unobtrusive. Rustic works for us since we live in the country, plus we have a lot of kids so I need decor that doesn’t look bad with a little wear and tear.
While the smallest of those wood trees above is from Target, the other two are from HomeGoods. I find HomeGoods to be a great place to find affordable holiday decor and they always seem to have a lot of things made from natural elements. I am all about wood these days. Even better if it looks distressed since that means nicks and chips won’t be a big deal. With five kids, we need decor that can take a beating.
