Each Awesome Blossom pocket diaper has two levels of rise snaps to create a short rise for young infants and a longer rise for growing toddlers. Six columns of waist snaps offer several sizes for keeping a snug, but comfortable fit around the tummy. Crossover tabs even add an extra small setting for newborns. The large, square shape of the tabs gives each diaper a structured fit that prevents wing droop. Each pocket diaper comes with one trim three layer microfiber insert. It is recommended to wash you Awesome Blossom cloth diaper a couple times before usage to remove any possible manufacturing residue, as well as boost absorbancy.
(Here is our youngest daughter at 11 lbs with the rise and column snaps done on the small settings, but not with the tabs crossed. As you can see, you can make the waist a good two inches tighter if need be. I am a fan of the hip snaps and square tabs. I find the square tabs are better at staying in place, especially once babies get moving. By making the waist more secure, they also fair better with those blowout poops that blow upward.
The included inserts are very trim. Our babies tend to be very heavy wetters, so I opted to add an additional insert. Actually, we often add a trifolded flat to our pocket diapers as an extra insert. After a few weeks in our diaper rotation, the Awesome Blossom pocket has risen to the top pick for overnight diapering in our household. The crotch is very wide so it can accommodate plenty of absorption, and the leg gussets haven’t failed us yet.)
